Transportation Manager

The role is responsible to actively contribute to the Global Transportation department under the direction of the Director of Global Transportation.
This role is accountable to manage the International Air, Ocean, and Small Package/Parcel modal category to meet cost, service, and quality requirements.
How You'll Help us Connect The WorldEnsure all transportation partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
Supervise and mitigate transport costs.
Leads RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes and requirements with bid process execution and negotiation of transportation pricing, service, and quality.
Ensure suppliers are effectively managed and held accountable through measurement of performance, including delivery performance, cost reduction/control, and response time.
Effectively handle the development, negotiation, and compliance of all supplier agreements and partnerships.
Partner with leadership to understand strategic direction, supply requirements, business objectives, and priorities in order to execute effective sourcing and demand management strategies.
Achieve business requirements while effectively capturing value (i.
e.
cost and process improvements, risk mitigation, cost avoidance, and supplier consolidation).
Serve as a go-to partner and strategic leader for all spend initiatives and supplier engagements related to International Freight Forwarders, Air, Ocean, and Small Package/Parcel.
Overall responsibility for developing, and implementing procurement strategies for the modal spend category.
Be a trusted advisor by developing and maintaining relationships with key partners to support business needs.
Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers while ensuring ongoing management of contracts and associated metrics/KPIs and continuous improvement efficiencies.
Investigate causes of damages, shortages, and overcharges for freight, or other customer complaints and well as provide resolutions.
Understand current and future trends and act as a subject matter authority related to transportation market trends, influences, and impacts.
Demonstrates financial analysis skills including the ability to assess supplier proposals and understanding of supplier cost structure.
Identifies Logistics process improvement opportunities using strategic and critical and analysis.
Understand and supervise the execution of best-in-class transportation services.
Required Qualifications for ConsiderationBachelor's Degree required4
years of related experience in a Logistics/Transportation organization required.
You, Will, Excite Us If You HaveExperience with an ERP system required, with SAP and TM preferredAbility to develop interactive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
A critical problem solver and good numeracy skills.
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Prefer previous experience and knowledge of Transportation Management Systems.
Ability to operate at both the strategic and tactical implementation levels.
